The origin of the house of Aunou probably dates back to Lord Foulque d'Airou, companion of William the Conqueror. The first building was built around 1350, a simple quadrilateral on 2 levels with an exterior staircase. It was remodeled in 1450 with the construction of the tower and a third habitable level.
