St. Agatha's Church is located at Heereweg 277 in Lisse. This church was built in 1902-1903 to a design by Jean van Groenendael and consecrated on August 7, 1903, by Mgr. Van de Wetering, Bishop of Utrecht, because the seat of the Haarlem diocese was vacant at that time. Since the 1920s, this church has been called the "cathedral of the Bulb Region" due to its grand neo-Gothic appearance. The church is open to visitors daily between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM. You are welcome to come and relax, pray, light a candle, or simply enjoy the beauty of this church. (source: parish)

The Sint-Agathakerk is a Roman Catholic church at Heereweg 273 in the Dutch town of Lisse. The church was built in 1902-1903. The architect was probably Jean van Groenendael, who had already built the Sint-Agathagesticht opposite the church in 1900-1901.[1] However, the work of Jean van Groenendael is often confused with that of his brother Hubert van Groenendael, to whom this church is also attributed. Van Groenendael designed a 60-metre-long three-aisled cruciform church in neo-Gothic style. The construction costs amounted to fl.36,051.-.[2] In 1929, the upper part of the tower was replaced by the current spire, which was designed by Jos Cuypers. A large part of the stained glass windows were installed in 1908 and came from the studio F. Nicolas en Zonen from Roermond. Sculptor J.P. Maas built the altars. The Stations of the Cross were painted by Jan Dunselman. His brother Kees Dunselman made the murals. The organ was built in 1913 by Joseph Adema and is placed in a neo-Gothic case, which was designed by F.W. Mengelberg. The Sint-Agathakerk is still used by the parish of Sint-Willibrordus. The church building and the rectory are on the list of national monuments.
