Nice place, the dike, also take a look inside the praethuis, it's not far from here, with nice weather it's packed with tourists and the terraces are full.

The Kwakelbrug is one of the few wooden "seesaw bridges" still in Edam. A yoke divides the suspended chain into two parts, to which the flap is attached. The 'spriet' is the upper beam of the bridge; at the end, it is widened by a weight so that a strong jerk on the chain causes the bridge to rise. From the bridge, you have a beautiful view of the shipyard on the Boerenverdriet (part of the water) and the play tower. A very worthwhile spot for photographers.
