The facade of this building has all the characteristics of the 17th-century Dutch Renaissance style. Above the door, the virtues of faith, hope, and love are symbolically depicted. The house was built in 1611 by Ingen Schrevelsz van der Lae. His initials I S v L are incorporated into the monogram above the door.

The Wilhelmina van Pruisenbrug is a drawbridge for pedestrians and cyclists in Hekendorp, spanning the Hollandsche IJssel River. Built in 1992 to replace a ferry, it is named after Princess Wilhelmina of Prussia, who was arrested nearby in 1787. The bridge is electrically operated by a pushbutton and is primarily used during the sailing season. It is part of the historic and touristic Princess Route.

I did this ferry again today, and it's quite a wobbly thing. Hold on tight and don't take too much at once.

A beautiful route through a stunning nature reserve. Be careful, as the ground has settled in recent months, making it feel like you're walking on an old cobblestone road.

The view is truly phenomenal. To the north are the Willeskop lakes, and to the south, the vast polders.

The windmill isn't located in Pershil. That town is in the Hoeksewaard region. Bosman had his forge there, and the windmills were often stamped with the Bosman-Pershil imprint. This one stands on the beautiful Noordzijdsekade in the Willeskop nature reserve. It's highly recommended, especially when combined with the lookout tower a stone's throw away.
