Rohrbühl Observation Tower Dedicated in 1937 as a memorial to the fallen of World War I. 23 m high, 121 steps in the tower. Magnificent panorama over the geologically famous Münchberg (gneiss) massif, to the Franconian Forest and Fichtel Mountains, as far as the Elster and Ore Mountains. Once you have climbed the steps, you have a great view of the Fichtel Mountains and Münchberg from above. There is a memorial at the bottom that is not accessible. There is a small covered rest stop in the square in front of it.

In the Middle Ages, this path was still traveled with ox carts and was described at the time as a “horrifying ravine”. The eastern cellars in the hollow path were possibly created from old tunnels for ore mining (15th century) and thus represent evidence of mining in and around Münchberg. Mining took place for silver, copper and gold. The hollow path is a still existing part of an old road, at that time an important connection between Münchberg and Sparneck and the Waldstein Castle. Cellars were built into the side flanks of the ravine as storage rooms for food. In the remaining part there were around sixty cellars, on the eastern side there were even two floors one above the other.
