St. Ulrich's Church in Grasbrunn was destroyed during the Thirty Years' War (1618-1648). The parish records of Hohenbrunn indicate that St. Ulrich's Church in Grasbrunn was a branch church with the privilege of owning a cemetery, and that its reconstruction took many years. The foundations of the burned-out ruins suggest that the predecessor church was built around the 12th century. It wasn't until 1680 that the church, built on the foundations of the previous structure, was completed with its Baroque furnishings. The church also burned down in a village fire in 1834, but it was rebuilt largely through the community's own labor and the use of church tithes. Catholic parish church in the center of Grasbrunn, near St.-Ulrich-Platz, which is named after it. The church fell victim to the great village fire in June 1834. During the reconstruction, the tower was given the characteristic pointed tower instead of the onion. The narrow tower acts as a navigation aid towards Grasbrunn. http://grasbrunn.de/Die-geschichte-der-Strassennamen-in-Grasbrunn-St.-Ulrich-Platz.o2344.html

Grasbrunn is first mentioned in the 12th century. Like many others in the Munich gravel plain, the settlement developed around a well from which the drinking water was fetched from a depth of around 20 metres.

When it was rebuilt, the tower received the characteristic pointed tower instead of the onion. This is also visible from afar over the wide, flat Munich gravel plain here in the south-east of Munich due to its height and is always a welcome point of orientation. http://grasbrunn.de/Die-History-der-Strassennamen-in-Grasbrunn-St.-Ulrich-Platz.o2344.html
