The Gustav Weißkopf Monument - an obelisk with an airplane sculpture - a replica of his Flying Machine No. 21. At this spot, a monument was erected in honor of Gustav Weißkopf, a native of Leutershausen. Gustav Weißkopf was the first to achieve powered flight with the exhibited aircraft 21 - even before the Wright brothers. However, American history denies this, citing the exhibits of the "Smithsonian Museum Washington D. C.". It should be taken into account, however, that the "Smithsonian" made a secret deal with the Wright brothers: the museum would not recognize any other flight pioneer as the first to fly, and in return, they received the aircraft from the Wright brothers.
