This artistic signpost leads along one of the axes of the Karlsruhe Fan from the palace to the Majolika. It was created in 2001 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Karlsruhe Ceramics Manufactory. South of the palace, toward the city center, there are two axes of the same design, lined with yellow glazed tiles, the "sunbeams."

A pleasant atmosphere – the various buildings (shop, museum, and restaurant) are accessed via the large inner courtyard. The artists' workshop opened in 1901 and has a very checkered history – periods of artistic flourishing alternated with periods of financial hardship. It was purchased by LBBW in 1999 and sold to the city of Karlsruhe in 2010. In 2011, financial ruin was averted by the establishment of a foundation. This lasted for about ten years: in 2022, it was sold to an investor (Gröner Group). Their plans also failed. Operations finally ceased at the end of 2024. The final chapter was the sale of the entire remaining inventory at a large auction in March 2025.

The Schlossgarten in Karlsruhe is a huge park in the style of an English landscape park with plenty of greenery, located directly north of the palace. Here you'll find large meadows, playgrounds, a lake, the Schlossgartenbahn (castle garden railway), and a very lively and relaxed atmosphere.
