The VERBUND Oberaudorf-Ebbs power plant is a run-of-river power plant on the Inn, north of Kufstein, between the municipalities of Ebbs (Tyrol) and Oberaudorf (Bavaria). Since 1992, the power plant has been in operation and generates green electricity from 100% hydropower. A special feature of the power plant is the colorful fish migration aid, which was lovingly painted with fish and other aquatic creatures by children from the surrounding villages. The power plant is the youngest in the VERBUND "Grenzkraftwerke" (border power plants) group and, despite its considerable output of 60 MW, is considered one of the smaller power plants in this group. Power Plant Data Owner: Österreichisch-Bayerische Kraftwerke AG Operator: VERBUND Hydro Power GmbH Commissioning: 1992 Type: Run-of-river power plant Country: Austria, Germany Region: Bavaria, Tyrol River: Inn Output: 60 MW Annual generation: 268,000 MWh Turbine: Kaplan Passability: Fish migration aid Technical Description Turbines and generators: The two machine piers are equipped with machine sets from the years 1990-1992, each consisting of a Kaplan tube turbine with a horizontal shaft and a three-phase generator. The regulated annual energy production is 260 GWh per year. Transformers: The electricity generated in the power plant is stepped up from 10.5 kV to 110 kV using two main transformers and fed into the grid via the power plant's outdoor switchgear. Weir structure: Pressure segment gates with flap tops have been installed in the weir fields. Pumping stations: For water retention in the backwater area, the plant has three pumping stations, which are supplied and controlled from the power plant via own-use lines. Great Kneipp pool. For feet and legs. Unfortunately, there's no one for hands and arms. But if you can still bend over, you can go to the large pool. However, it's more or less possible with a lot of visitors in some places.
