Henham is a pretty little village in rural Essex, although the proximity to Stansted Airport means that the ski tends to be busier than the streets. The Cock Inn is a good pub, worth a stop, the village shop is great for picking up supplies and the Church of St Mary's has been here since 1044 (although it's not the same building).

Little antique shop that does coffee and limited cakes. Seats outside but no toilets. Thaxted is limited to here or across road at Dorringtons for coffee. Dorringtons has wider choice as its a bakers but no seats. However there is a bench near the post office.

Now called Blossom Bites. The staff are excellent, and the owner, Emma, is a lovely lady with fierce sence of humour . Outside space for bikes in the front and rear accessed to the right of the entrance. Outside seating as well as plenty of space inside. Excellent bacon and egg sandwiches, cakes and smoothies. A large range of cakes as well. Clean and unisex toilet. A very good place to stop on a ride. Sept 24 update Now serves beer and wine and has special evening events. They have 10% discount for cyclists. New extended menu. Well worth a visit especially as there are 5 old green lanes within 10 minutes.

Toilet is now usually locked but ask a staff member who will unlock it. Still lovely staff and food especially bacon baguette which I had this morning. Seat out front in the sun and plenty of space for bikes.
