The Scheidegg castle ruins are located near Tecknau. Many interesting remains of the walls and components of the former castle remain. The Scheidegg was built in 1220 by the Lords of Gelterkinden as a residential tower. It soon fell into decline. In 1270 the castle fell victim to a fire. The use of the residential tower was then reduced. The castle was abandoned around 1320 after another severe fire and was unsuccessfully searched for by treasure hunters. The Scheidegg ruins are located 400 meters southwest of Tecknau and north of the village of Rünenberg. The ruins can be reached from Tecknau train station via a hiking trail in about 25 minutes. .... https://www.baselland-tourismus.ch/poi/ruine-scheidegg
