October 7, 2025, Meandering Track in Lincolnshire Wolds National Landscape

Snypedales Country Park is a good starting point for a Lincolnshire Wolds ride. Though the park is for walkers only, half a mile on road and you have access to bridleways and single track for much of your ride across multiple routes. It is ยฃ1 to park but you have toilets and a picnic area for after ride recovery. Terrain is challenging at an intermediate level. This route has one short segment (50 yards-ish) that were too steep for me to keep my front wheel grounded but that gets you to nice high ground with great views :-)

The stumpy tree seems to be on the most northerly point of this trail, located on a road bend, it was a place I needed to stop at and hydrate

Clear to see the tracks here, looking downhill slightly you can see the meandering wavy route ahead. The surfaces have been laid with hardcore recently (Sep 2024). Enjoyable to ride through and good scenery

THIS UNUSUAL AND HISTORIC CINEMA was once an early 19th century farmhouse, before being converted into a recreation and entertainment center serving the nearby Victoria Hotel. After the hotel was destroyed by fire, the building was converted into the 68th cinema in Britain, opening in 1922. It was originally dubbed the โ€œPavilion Cinema.โ€ However, upon completion headroom inside didnโ€™t allow for a normal projection system, so a back-projection system was installed. The cinemaโ€™s first showing was a film by Charlie Chaplin, after a reel featuring, The Lion Eaters failed to arrive in time for the premiere. The cinema now includes two screens, with the back projection system still operating on screen one, the original auditorium. The Kinema in the Woods is believed to be the only cinema in the United Kingdom to still utilize a back-projection system. Until 1953, the original auditorium had traditional tip-up seats, except for the first six rows.
