Didn't stop at the cafe, but the town and church are definitely worth a visit.

Enjoy a jog along the beautiful Oxfordshire Way just outside the village of Charlbury. You'll pass open fields, pockets of woodland and glistening lakes.

This magical woodland with a soft forest floor is the perfect place for an enjoyable run. Towering trees shoot up either side of you, and, if visiting in the spring months, you'll be afforded a colourful display of blooming wildflowers, too.

The Charlbury Deli is the best place to stock up on snacks or grab a coffee before your run. They also serve great breakfasts from 8:30 to 2:30.

Burford is a pretty Cotswold town with a host of lovely cafés and pubs ready to prep you for a run or recharge you afterwards. It's a good base, with the Windrush valley trails to the east and the main Cotswold Ridge to the west.

August 18, 2023, River Windrush Trail

A great little trail that follows the southern bank of the River Windrush, east of Burford. It can get muddy when it's wet, but as long as you have grippy shoes it's very pretty and good fun.
