De Kosmos on the Rodeberg in Heuvelland was a well-known holiday domain and recreation area. It was founded in the 1930s and included a hotel, restaurant, party hall, music café, and an open-air swimming pool. The domain was especially popular in the 1960s to 1980s, when it was frequently visited by youth movements, CM camps, and forest classes. The open-air swimming pool, which was built in the 1960s, was an important feature of De Kosmos and attracted many visitors. Unfortunately, the swimming pool was closed in 2002 due to safety issues, which eventually led to the closure of the entire complex. Since then, the domain has fallen into disrepair. However, there are plans to breathe new life into De Kosmos. The renovation of the holiday domain will take place in several phases, starting with the main building, which will house a hotel, café, and restaurant. The entire renovation is expected to be completed by 2034.
