A beautiful photo opportunity of, and on the tower. You must have been there once to enjoy the unique view of the hills of the Hageland.

The Vlooybergtoren is a tourist attraction on the Pastoriestraat in the Flemish Brabant municipality of Tielt-Winge. The lookout tower is located on the Vlooyberg, with its eighty meters one of the highest witness hills in the Hageland, which on clear days offers a view up to the cooling towers of Vilvoorde and the headframe of the coal mine of Beringen.

At first glance a bit of a detail perhaps, but it is the Houwaartse Berg or Houwaartseberg (written together), not Houwaartberg. You should search for that term if you want to find the fauna and flora that has been observed there or want to know more about it from a nature management perspective. Information about the success or failure of the wine harvest can also usually be found under the name Houwaartse Berg. You can find the exact location at https://waarnemingen.be/locations/126453/ with a handy map. The surface area of the forest on the Houwaartse berg is approximately 24 hectares. This forest fits into the “Hagelands forest” project, in which the Natuurpunt departments of Aarschot and Tielt-Winge and the Agency for Nature and Forests (ANB) are working together to create a larger contiguous nature reserve of 400 ha that connects the Mostingbos (Nieuwrode), the Tienbunderbos (Rillaar) and the Houwaartseberg forest - see https://www.natuurpunt.be/system/files/2024-10/QR14.pdf
