Start and finish opposite the church in Les Villettes. A magnificent hilly route, 100% nature, fresh air, trails and forest paths. Highly recommended. I started under a radiant sun, without wind or rain, but with a temperature of -2°C. After about 1.5 km, the farmer blocked the path marked by the municipality of Lierneux. I went around to the right of the barrier, backing up 2-3 meters. After walking 10-15 meters, I descended onto the path that led me to the main road to Monteux. I crossed the farm without seeing anyone. In any case, he has no right to do that since the route is marked by the municipality. At km 4.5-5, you are in an area without cell service. As soon as you cross the small wooden bridge, you have to climb 200m to your right where there is a house at the top of the 9% climb (Phew!). There are three paths; take the middle one that goes uphill. Then at kilometer 9, you'll encounter a 14% gradient for another kilometer. After that, you'll be on the descent towards your car, 3-4 kilometers away. There are several fords to cross and recross. I saw a lot of beaver dams, even with a 50-60 meter gap.

St. Peter's Church in Les Villettes was built in 1910 in the Neo-Gothic style, using sandstone rubble and brick as materials. The massive square tower dates from around 850 and houses a remarkable clock. The site has a long tradition, dating back to 1264, with an annual Corpus Christi procession. The church is surrounded by a cemetery with a slate wall, where gravestones are part of the historic site.
