From Gazzaniga, the climb to San Patrizio is quite challenging, but then the road becomes easier to ride. You pass through Rezzo and Bondo, two hamlets surrounded by green, freshly mown meadows. If you can manage it, you can reach Barbata and continue... if you have a mountain bike, you can even descend into Val del Riso, to Gorno!

The Val Seriana cycle path is a long 59 km snake that starts from the center of Bergamo and ends in Valbondione, in the upper Seriana valley. A slow-moving cycle path that runs parallel to the Serio river and passes through most of the villages nestled in the valley. Dozens of km pedaling through nature, art and mountains, a great opportunity for those who love to spend a relaxing moment in company, for those who want to do sports or for those who love cycle tourism. The route is well marked with indicative and informative signs along the entire route, you have to be a little careful not to lose your way in the very short sections on pavement and road. Most of the route runs alongside the Serio river that crosses it from time to time with characteristic pedestrian bridges and at times follows the disused Valseriana railway that served between Bergamo and Clusone at the turn of the 20th century.

The sanctuary of San Patrizio is a Catholic place of worship located in Colzate, in the middle of the Seriana valley, in the province and diocese of Bergamo; it is a subsidiary of the church of San Maurizio and is part of the vicariate of Gazzaniga. The sanctuary is located in a dominant position over the valley, placed on a spur of rock called I grumi, it is the symbol of the valley itself, and is the result of a series of architectural structures built over several centuries full history https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santuario_di_San_Patrizio

The angel's greeting to the Mother of God begins with the words "Ave Maria, gratia plena" ("Hail Mary, full of grace") when he brings the heavenly message to Mary, who lives in Nazareth and is betrothed to Joseph, that she is to give birth to Jesus Christ, the Son of God. The text, based on the Gospel of Luke, has become a widespread prayer that believers like to address to the Mother of God to invoke her intercession or to express their thanks.
