Tips from the Community

Reka
October 8, 2025, View of the Euganean Hills with Cacti and Volcanic Rocks

The view is truly beautiful! The climb was a bit strenuous; there was no proper path anymore, just lava rocks. It was short, though, so it's absolutely doable – as long as you're wearing hiking boots! The path down on the northwest side is a bit rocky and muddy in places, but still manageable.

A really beautiful hike, enchanted paths, great view at the top. I wouldn't classify it as easy though. If it has rained a few days before, at least the ascent is muddy and slippery, and further up it is difficult to walk because it is very rocky. The descent is also steep and rocky at the beginning.

This path is an absolute highlight. However, it is only suitable for the ascent! Good footwear and alpine experience are important. The effort is worth it - with outstanding views and wonderful fauna This path is an absolute highlight! But only suitable for climbing! I recommend: good shoes and alpine experience! Vale la pena: exceptional panoramas and wonderful fauna!

September 17, 2024, Monte Spinefrasse

The Ceva–Spinefrasse Mountains group in the Euganean Hills, located between Battaglia Terme and Montegrotto Terme, forms an amphitheater of hills with a unique appearance. With peaks reaching 255 meters, it is a natural oasis of great botanical value, thanks to its particular geology and microclimate.

The uphill section of the path on Monte Ceva is quite challenging and not suitable for little ones.

I know the place well. It's a fragile environment. Stay on the ridge path and enjoy the wonderful blooms in May from there. Once I was lucky enough to see there, together with the flowering opuntia, a pair of majestic bearded vultures enjoying the thermals in large circles. Truly an enchanted place.

Quite steep climb, in this period there are muddy and very rocky sections: at least use trekking shoes. Climb time up to the iron cross approximately 2 hours, beautiful 360 degree panorama. Be careful on the descent: either you go back to the camper park or, to continue, follow the path on the crest. Or continue along the rock face, shorter but much more challenging.
