When you are on this beach and swim in the crystal-clear, turquoise water of the lake, it is worth realizing that you are actually swimming directly over someone's former homes and streets. The construction of the dam and the flooding of the valley irrevocably changed the landscape. The former, historic village of San Lorenzo al Fiume ended up underwater. Interestingly, in June 2026, due to planned maintenance work on the dam, the water level was lowered by several meters, thanks to which the remains of old buildings and the former stone bridge briefly emerged from the depths of the lake. The current town (San Lorenzo al Lago) was rebuilt higher up, just above the shore of the new reservoir.

Miller's house located on the old mill already existing in 1200 with adjacent hydroelectric plant from 1913 (reactivated in 2013), which uses the waters of the Chienti River with suggestive view of the watercourse. Point of passage of the Franciscan Way of the Marca and the Via Lauretana.
