October 2025: great path, 8km gravel, 95% can be done actually riding a gravel-bike with luggage (sporty attitude). It never gets "really bad" though, since there is no big difference in height. Military sector could be crossed without hassle, just many signs to not leave the road, no road blocks, no checks. Some persons that saw us did not complain.

Along the coastal road near Marina di Gairo, a panoramic stretch opens up that offers a superb view of the bay. From here, the crystalline sea extends as far as the eye can see, framed by the wild cliffs and the intense colors of the Mediterranean scrub. It is a perfect place to stop and admire the contrast between the blue of the water and the green of the hills, which together create an unforgettable scene of this pristine coast.

I interpreted the signs regarding the military zone as meaning that the paths must not be left

The signs for the military area: I understood that you are not allowed to leave the trail, but be on the trail itself is fine. Heard that from others, so not guaranteed by me. But for us it went perfectly fine. Trail is too good not to take.
