The sanctuary stands on the top of the hill overlooking Silvano d'Orba. It was built in the 12th century after the relics of the holy martyr arrived from Rome, probably brought by the Benedictines of Sezzadio. In the 17th century the original chapel was incorporated into the current structure, with a single nave and single apse. - Altar wing depicting the martyrdom of Saint Pancras Bone fragments of Saint Pancras kept in a reliquary.
