April 21, 2024, Porta Nuova di Orciano

The door located towards the south is called "Porta Nuova". The gate is inserted in a monumental complex which was originally the Ducal Palace, where the Della Rovere family spent days on holiday and where the civic bell tower stands. In 1622 the cloistered nuns of the Order of Saint Benedict settled in this building; the monastery closed following the suppression of the religious orders, the palace housed the municipal headquarters, preserving inside the original wall structures, decorations, various works of art and the small church dedicated to San Carlo. Today nothing has been preserved inside (due to the transformations it underwent when it was used as a middle school and then as an agricultural school) with the exception of a sandstone plate bearing the symbol of the Della Rovere family which presumably dates back to the beginning of the 1500s. adapted from: https://www.lavalledelmetauro.it/contenuti/comuni-del-bacino/scheda/8191.html#:~:text=The%20due%20porte%20d'entrazione,erge%20la%20Torre%20civica%20campanaria.

The Rope and Brick Museum is located in the historic center of Orciano di Pesaro. The museum is dedicated to the two main local craft activities of the past: the rope-making profession and the production of bricks and bricks. The first exhibition room is dedicated to brick: its history is told by a rich sampling that spans the centuries, from the Roman period to the contemporary age. In the next room the instruments used by the 40 rope makers of Orciano, once famous in the area, are displayed. adapted from: https://www.beniculturali.it/luogo/museo-della-corda-e-degli-antichi-mestieri
