The history of this church is linked to that of the Basilica of Sant'Eufemia on Comacina Island, of which only fascinating ruins remain. The current parish church, in fact, was built in the 12th century after the destruction of most of the buildings on Comacina Island by the people of Como (1169). The church, of Romanesque design, was altered over the centuries. Inside, Baroque frescoes and stucco work are featured. In the church square, the rationalist architect Pietro Lingeri created this war memorial in 1924.

A small Romanesque church overlooking the lake. Dating between the 10th and 12th centuries, the building retains almost its entire original appearance. The extensive frescoed areas (both inside and on the side façade) are noteworthy: they are the remains of a cycle dating back to the 11th century. Other frescoes belong to a second decorative phase, between the 15th and 16th centuries.

An easy, panoramic road with ups and downs, but completely exposed to the sun, so avoid it during the hottest hours and months. Stop at Cantina Follie in Tremezzina for excellent cured meats, cheeses, and many other delicacies.
