The Buchegg Castle Foundation Founded in 1938, the Stiftung Schloss Buchegg is the owner of the Buechischlössli, a tower built in 1546 that served, among other things, as a prison for 250 years. The Buechischlössli stands on the grounds of a medieval castle complex. In addition to its core tasks – care and maintenance of the tower and castle grounds – the foundation promotes culture and art, operates the Bucheggberg district archive, and awards a cultural and recognition prize. It also maintains the Bucheggberg circular hiking trail. More information: https://www.schlossbuchegg.ch/

Büren an der Aare Castle is the most significant Bernese castle construction from the first half of the 17th century. Built from 1621-1624, it is considered one of the most beautiful bailiff's seats far and wide. In 2003, the building was restored. The eight empty picture fields under the two rows of windows were adorned with paintings by the artist Mercurius Weissenstein in 2006, which have restored balance and harmony to the facade. Today, the castle houses the music school of the Lengnau-Büren region and the police station. Source: Municipality of Büren an der Aare.

Calm and peaceful, the Alte Aare rejoins its new course. A wonderful place, a beautiful bridge to walk across, suspended over the water. Beautiful.
