It was frozen, but I think it's a beautiful place in spring. Besides the little church, there are several picnic tables.

Lake Gaiano was once one with Lake Endine. Then, according to geologists, millennia ago the Borlezza Stream, continually excavating its bed, created a dividing rise to the east, at the level of the current Cava Cantamessa, creating the two lakes. The lake is small and particularly muddy to the east, with a large reed bed. From here, the Oneto Stream flows, flowing through the small plain before flowing into the Borlezza River at Pianico, its tributary. It is shallow and hosts several species of aquatic birds, depending on the season. A beautiful cycle/pedestrian path has been created on the southern side of the lake, along pre-existing paths, allowing visitors to safely enjoy the beauty of the area. Almost parallel to the lake, but further east and below the slopes of Monte Na, is the Valle del Freddo, separated from the lake by a small wooded ridge.

Built in 1926, "La Capitanio" was originally equipped with a steam engine, but after a few years it was replaced with a diesel engine. Her name was a celebration of the beatification of Bartolomea Capitanio, founder of the order of the Sisters of Charity, which took place the year of the ship's construction. She was used as a ferry for the Società di Navigazione a Vapore on Lake Iseo until its dissolution in 1932. In the 1950s, she was used as a tug for Italsider, hauling railway barges from the Lovere plant (now the Lucchini RS plant) to the Paratico dock. Upon her decommissioning, she was successively purchased by various private owners who saved her from decommissioning and, through various refits, brought her to her current magnificent state. The superstructures have been changed numerous times, but the sheet metal hull has remained unchanged since 1926. Starting in 2023, "La Capitanio," thanks to a joint effort by the new owners and the institutions, aims to become a heritage and historical memory of navigation on Lake Iseo, sailing toward the 100-year milestone in all its splendor.
