The goal is to use the proceeds to maintain Via Cadorna (this is what the municipality has declared. Whether this is fair or not, I'll leave it to others to decide), the main thoroughfare leading to Forcella.

The Madonna del Monte Pizzo is a charming chapel located on the top of Monte Pizzo, in the municipality of Peia, in the province of Bergamo. The chapel, built in reinforced concrete, houses a large golden statue of the Madonna, known as "Maria Regina delle Vette e Madre della Vita", which dominates the Val Gandino. The statue, 4.10 meters high and 1.80 meters wide, weighs 25 quintals and was positioned with the help of a helicopter. Every year, in the Marian month of September, a celebration takes place with a religious ceremony dedicated to the Madonna. The excursion to the Madonna del Monte Pizzo is very popular with trekking lovers, with routes that offer spectacular views of the valley and the surrounding mountains.
