🚂 Lokpark Ampflwang – A journey back in time to the steam locomotive era For me, Lokpark Ampflwang is one of the most exciting stops in the Hausruckviertel. Even if you're not a die-hard railway fan, the mighty steam locomotives, the historic roundhouse, and the huge turntable are impressive. Railway history truly comes alive here. 🚴♂️ My tip: Allow at least an hour. There's an incredible amount to discover – from lovingly restored steam, diesel, and electric locomotives to the mining museum on the former coal plant site. I find it particularly impressive that many of the historic vehicles are still operational and are regularly used for special trips. 📸 Photo tip: The turntable with the roundhouse is the landmark of the Lokpark and offers the most beautiful photo opportunities. When a steam locomotive is under steam, you feel transported back decades. 💚 My conclusion: For me, the Lokpark is one of the highlights around Vöcklabruck. Whether with family, friends, or on a bike tour – this place uniquely combines technology, history, and nostalgia and is definitely worth a visit.

Göblberg lookout tower – One of the most beautiful viewpoints in the Hausruckviertel Anyone who simply drives past here misses out on one of the region's most beautiful panoramas. After climbing the wooden tower, a breathtaking 360° panoramic view opens up in clear weather – from the Höllengebirge, Traunstein, Dachstein and the peaks of the Salzkammergut, far into the Alpine foothills. The tower is located at an altitude of 790 m and is easily accessible by both bicycle and on foot. Quiet forest paths and forest roads around the Göblberg invite you to a relaxing tour. A unique atmosphere prevails here, especially at sunrise or sunset. 💡 My tip: Take a few minutes and definitely climb up – the view is worth every single step! With föhn wind or clear autumn air, the view often extends for many kilometers to the Alps.
