A pleasant, though somewhat long, trip for families with children, ending at the European Bison Show Reserve, where, in addition to European bison, you can see all the wild animal species of Podlasie.

One of several "ferry" crossings of this type on the Waniewo-Śliwno footbridge. Exciting! Self-service. Look for a chain attached to the footbridge on one side and to the jetty on the other. Pull the jetty towards you and get on. Then use the second chain from the water side to pull the jetty to the other side. Definitely the biggest attraction of this place!

One of the viewing terraces in the reserve. Very well maintained - looks brand new. There is also a great information board about the local springs feeding the Krzemionka stream: according to the information, such springs are rare in Poland, so they are protected here. Most of these springs are oval in shape and animals use them to drink water.

You are about halfway along the short, 2.7-kilometer Żubra Żubra Trail. Interesting fact: it was the first forest nature trail in Poland, marked in the 1970s. The trail's name comes from the widely spaced planks or tree trunks arranged in some places, resembling ribs.

Easy entry to the Żebra Żubra educational trail, leading through various, beautiful, forest environments, mostly with a nicely inviting footbridge through often marshy areas. There is also a car park and a shelter here, so access is really easy and it is a great idea for a walk from Białowieża.

Here, a sign by the road indicates the entrance to the beautiful Żebra Żubra trail - the other end is on Zastawa Street in Białowieża. Right next to this place to the south is a bison enclosure, where you can see these beautiful animals after parting with a few zlotys. Otherwise, I invite you to the trail, which is really great.
