Descent towards Krottenkopf is tricky this time of the year. There is still some snow and the path is a bit obscured. Also, very muddy and slippery. Extra care is needed. Just stick to the rocky part and skip over the pines to get to the path to Krottenkopf, don't get into the snow.

There's a small private hut here, from which you have a great view of the Zugspitze. Whether sheep sometimes roam here, or if the name comes from somewhere else, I don't know. I've been here twice and haven't seen any sheep.
