June 21, 2026, Frank Slide Interpretive Centre

Perched above the slide, the interpretive centre overlooks the entire rockfall path and provides one of the best views of the disaster site. Inside, exhibits, films, and personal accounts tell the story of the 1903 slide, the mining town of Frank, and the geology of Turtle Mountain. Even from outside, the viewpoint helps put the scale of the slide into perspective.

The Frank Slide Interpretive Trail takes you through the aftermath of one of Canada's deadliest natural disasters. In 1903, part of Turtle Mountain collapsed and buried a section of the mining town of Frank beneath millions of tonnes of rock. Today, this easy loop weaves through the massive limestone boulders left behind, with interpretive signs explaining the disaster and the landscape it created.

Rising above the Crowsnest Pass, Saskatoon Mountain rewards the climb with wide-ranging views across the surrounding peaks, valleys, and foothills. The exposed summit provides a stark contrast to the forested sections of the route below, with open alpine terrain and unobstructed sightlines in multiple directions. On a clear day, the elevated vantage point offers a good perspective on the rugged landscape that defines this corner of the Canadian Rockies.

Miner's Path begins from the edge of Flumerfelt Park and winds its way along the historic route of miners who climbed to work at the McGillivray Mine between 1909 & 1957. These days hikers use the trail to access Rainbow Falls which can be found less than a kilometer from the park. It's a popular place for families due to the short walk and park facilities such as a splash pad, picnic areas, and the so called "Biggest Piggy Bank in the World"
