The hike to the lake is easy, and the trail winds right along the azure water as you skirt around the alpine basin. The lake makes for a great rest and picnic spot in the middle of your trek.

The hike to the summit is easy except for one 200 metre section that has some steep scree. You should judge this section based on your ability level and the conditions on the mountain. Once you get past the steep scree the rest of the hike is smooth sailing to the summit.

This area is famous for its Alpine Larches. These special trees look like evergreens, but their needles turn a brilliant, glowing gold in late September before falling off. What makes this trail unique is how quickly it transitions from thick larch forests to wide-open ridges. You will find yourself walking along a spectacular "knife-edge" ridge that requires careful footing. The path here is often narrow and rocky, with steep drop-offs on either side.
