The lake is beautifully situated for swimming or other leisure activities, but one thing is very annoying: in some places too many geese and ducks heavily pollute the paths and shores, and the problem doesn't get smaller when there are always unreasonable visitors who feed the animals. The Gunzenlê was the presumed location of the Hungarians' main camp east of Augsburg, which was set up in August 955 during the siege of the city.
