December 19, 2025, Stèle en hommage au Halifax LL289 et son équipage

This monument commemorates the Halifax V of the British 138th Squadron, registration LL289 NF-P, shot down by flak at Saumur on its return from a mission to drop weapons for the French Resistance on the night of June 1-2, 1944. Of the seven members of the British-Australian crew, five were killed instantly and buried in the Longuée cemetery. The two survivors were taken prisoner by the Germans and were liberated in August 1944 and April 1945, respectively.
