The Musestre river and its banks offer a suggestive glimpse of the Venetian countryside between the provinces of Treviso and Venice. Historically known as the "washerwomen's river", the Musestre originates in Breda di Piave and concludes its course by flowing into the Sile river precisely at the hamlet of Musestre, in the municipality of Roncade.

The Musestre kilns, located in the municipality of Roncade along the river of the same name, represent an important testimony of industrial archaeology in the Treviso area. Their presence is linked to the abundance of clay in the subsoil and the proximity of the Sile river, which allowed the transport of materials towards Venice. During the 20th century, these structures saw the introduction of Hoffmann continuous kilns, which drastically increased their production for the construction industry. Today, the "Vecia Fornase" remains a historical landmark before entering the village of Musestre, preserving its original structure as a symbol of a past when earth, water, and fire were the engine of the local economy.

The Ciclovia il GiraSile is a fascinating cycle-pedestrian path that follows the placid course of the Sile river, winding through the heart of the Regional Natural Park between Treviso and Jesolo. Immersed in a river landscape of rare beauty, the itinerary crosses wetlands, riparian woods, and historic villages, offering a regenerating escape in contact with biodiversity. The route is distinguished by the famous "Restera", the raised embankment where oxen once pulled barges upstream. Along the way, you will encounter the evocative cemeteries of the burci, ancient sunken boats that create an almost magical atmosphere. The path is flat and suitable for everyone, perfect for those seeking a slow experience amidst crystal-clear waters, Venetian villas, and the sweet song of local nature.

The Church of Santa Cristina in Quinto di Treviso, located in the hamlet of the same name, is an artistic and historical treasure set within the Sile Park. Founded in ancient times, it is especially famous for housing the splendid Pala di Santa Cristina (1505) by Lorenzo Lotto, a Renaissance masterpiece depicting the Madonna and Child between Saints. The building, with its simple and harmonious facade, stands a short walk from the riverbanks, integrating into a landscape of extraordinary serenity. In addition to Lotto's canvas, the interior preserves frescoes and decorations that bear witness to centuries of Venetian faith and culture. Due to its location and artistic value, it represents an essential stop for those who travel the nature trails along the Sile or visit the surroundings of Treviso.

It originates in Breda di Piave and receives the waters of the Musestrelle and the Fossa. It flows calmly through the countryside, creating a characteristic ecosystem around it, both from an environmental and landscape perspective, which is why many have proposed the creation of a park. After crossing the center of Roncade, it flows into the Sile, at the location of the town of the same name. Towards the end of its course, after the Rachello mill, it divides into two parallel branches that rejoin shortly after. The waters of the Musestre fall within the area of competence of the Consorzio di bonifica Piave.

From Santa Cristina to Treviso, always stay on the cycle path, do not follow our route, because the very nice cycle path was being newly built when we were there, so we could only ride on part of it.
