The Kalvebrug is a bascule bridge over the Moervaart. The current bridge was built in 1945 to replace the bridge that was destroyed in World War II. The portal has an inscribed pointed arch and the superstructure is reinforced with crossing lattice girders. The bridge was mechanized in 2000. The Kalvebrug was protected as a monument in 2001. source: Wikipedia

Brenda Froyen was a versatile woman. She was the author of both playful children's books about the dog Wifi, and a psychoeducational children's book, "Pssst!", about mental health and psychological vulnerability. This psychological vulnerability is also the central theme in her books (non-fiction) aimed at adults. Her own experiences of admission to a psychiatric center and the unacceptably slow (or even entirely absent) evolution of care formed the basis for her activism for patient rights. She gave up this fight at the age of 46... She passed away here in Moerbeke.
