This is a beautiful park just off the High Street. Sandford Park is one of Cheltenham's lesser known little paradises. Apart from the park and gardens there is a large play area for kids.

The Neptune Fountain - purported to have been modelled as an ode to the Trevi Fountain in Rome, Italy - sits outside the Municipal Buildings on The Promenade. At night, it is beautifully lit, and creates an eye-catching focal point on Cheltenham’s famous avenue. A great cycleway that works well with the other cycleways in Cheltenham... especially the one through Pittville Park.

Home of the world famous Cheltenham Gold Cup race, held during the festival for racing every March. I would suggest avoiding the area during race week as the roads have temporary changes, closures, one-way and the volume of traffic can be manic. This point is also the southern terminus of the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway (GWSR), travelling from Toddington. See gwsr.com for further details.

A pretty park in the centre of Cheltenham at the end of the High Street. The park was founded in 1929 and designed by the architect Milner White. The landscaped gardens are the perfect location to enjoy a picnic. In summer, a lido is open for swimming priced at £5 per adult. Entrance to the park is free.
