In 1904, the Dortmund IX left the city of Papenburg. Today, it is the second oldest ship of the MEYER WERFT still in existence. It was saved from being scrapped and returned to its birthplace after two years of construction work. After many nautical miles, the Dortmund IX has now found a new purpose: it complements the interactive exhibition of the Maritime Adventure World.
