great place to start or finish a ride in this general area, pretty quiet roads with typical lakeland scenery in all directions, trains to Helsinki and Kuopio/Oulu every 2–3 hours (but do keep in mind that Pendolino trains don’t carry bikes), summer cafe in the old goods depot
