Buxtehude Stavenort, the name derives from "stove, stave". This is what the Buxtehude bathing room was formerly called. It was located in the northeast of the old town. Stavenort has been called this since around 1575. Narrow, two-story half-timbered houses are located here, whose outer walls partly consist of remnants of the old city wall. They are characteristic of the formerly very densely built-up and winding residential quarter. Today, this cultural center of the city, located between the Buxtehude Museum for Regional History and Art, the Stavenort 16 Art School, and the Stavenort 5 City Archive, is a venue for public events.
