A mountain hike in the Dolni Morava ski area with unique experiences and impressions. The first destination after the approximately one-hour ascent is to cross the currently second-longest suspension bridge, the "Sky Bridge 721." Height difference: 91 meters to the ground. After a short walk back, past old World War II shooting ranges and information boards about the history of the area, we continue to the Sky Walk, a unique shooting range. (Warm clothing, long pants, and a windproof jacket are recommended. It's usually very windy on the Sky Walk (we're at an altitude of almost 1200 meters). As a reward, you can treat yourself to the longest coaster, the "CZ," and the second-longest summer toboggan run in Europe. Alternatively, you can take the chairlift or walk down the ski slopes to the valley to the starting point.

A visit is worthwhile. You'll be rewarded with a magnificent view. We booked tickets online in advance. During the week, we didn't have to wait, and it wasn't too crowded. But it was quite windy at the top.

Moravia boasts incredibly diverse landscapes perfect for family adventures. Some trails even lead through mountain ranges like the Beskydy, offering varied terrain for all ages.
Yes, many family-friendly trails in Moravia are designed as loops, allowing you to start and end at the same point without retracing your steps. For example, the Marchauen Nature Reserve – Marchegg Castle loop from Marchegg offers a pleasant circular walk through a nature reserve.
Moravia's family trails often pass by fascinating historical and natural sights. You might encounter impressive castles like Devín Castle or Schloss Marchegg. The region also features unique natural formations, such as the Moravian Karst with its extensive cave systems and the dramatic Macocha Abyss.
While many trails are suitable for walking with children, truly stroller-friendly paths (paved or very smooth gravel) are more common in specific areas like the flat terrain of the Lednice-Valtice Cultural Landscape or along some river paths. Always check the route details on komoot for surface information before heading out with a stroller.
Spring (April-May) and autumn (September-October) generally offer the most pleasant conditions for family hiking in Moravia, with mild temperatures and beautiful scenery. Summer (June-August) is also popular, especially in higher elevations or near water, but can be warm in the lowlands. Winter hiking is possible, particularly in mountain areas, but requires appropriate gear.
Moravia's diverse ecosystems are home to various wildlife. In forested areas, you might spot deer, wild boar, or various bird species. Many towns and villages in Moravia are accessible by public transport (buses and trains), and some trailheads are located within walking distance of stops. However, for more remote trails, especially in national parks or mountain regions, public transport options might be limited, and driving is often more convenient for families.
