The castle, built in 1192, is one of the oldest preserved residential buildings in the canton of Lucerne. In the 17th century, the medieval country estate was expanded into a baroque castle. For centuries, it was the seat of various noble families. Since 1950, Heidegg Castle has belonged to the canton of Lucerne. Today, it houses a museum that provides insights into the history and life of the former castle residents. Particularly worth seeing is also the rose garden with around 130 historical rose varieties, as well as the castle park.

Very nice "Burehof-Beizli" to linger. For bikes there are extra parking spaces, even charging facilities for e-bikes are available as well as simple bike tools are ready. Culinary there is always something fine to snack on, and the drink selection is also large. Seating is available (under cover as well as outside). The "Beizli" is maintained with love, thank you very much for that.

A historic castle mill from the 14th century is located right next to the "Hallwyl" castle. The mill is now a museum where guided tours are also held. There are plenty of parking spaces in the immediate vicinity (castle parking lot).
