The Fahrbachtalhütte is a small refuge above the Waldschlösschen, mostly lonely and quiet

Clay is no longer ground in the old brickworks in Oberkaufungen, the steam-powered extrusion press is in a deep sleep and no bricks have been fired in the once ultra-modern zigzag kiln for more than 20 years. But almost everything still looks the same as it did in 1983, when the brickworks had to cease operations - and much of it still looks the same as it did in 1928, when master bricklayer Hermann Lohöfer took over the factory. It has been open to the public since 2006 as the "Hessian Brickworks Museum". The sensory corridors have found a fantastic place in the brickworks' kiln, which was renovated for this purpose, since 2011. This consists of 16 walk-in, interconnected vaulted chambers.

The creek looks more like a flooded path at this point.

It used to be a good place to stop off at the Waldschlösschen. Unfortunately closed and derelict. If you want to take a break on the round, you should plan the Bilstein.

The former brick factory in Oberkaufungen makes an interesting impression. The buildings here are pretty well preserved.
