Bibi Lake is a great place for swimming and has lovely sunbathing lawns. The lake was created between 1969 and 1978 through gravel mining on the grounds of the Wiesener Hof. It was owned by the Kutschke family, whose son Cornelius was nicknamed "Bibi." From around 1975, Cornelius ("Bibi") ran a temporary kiosk on the southern shore. The name "Bibisee" became popular due to the popular saying "We go swimming in Bibi's lake."
