An old coat of arms from 1680 is embedded in the former “Zur Weintraube” inn. It is the so-called Napoleon stone. As soon as I have more information about it, it will be added here.

This stele commemorates the subcamp of the Buchenwald concentration camp in Berlstedt. In 1938, a subcamp of the Buchenwald concentration camp was built on the outskirts. The 250 prisoners living there had to do forced labor in the attached brickworks and sewage treatment plant, which belonged to the SS-owned German Earth and Stone Works (“DEST”). An unknown number of them died. (Source: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berlstedt)
