The Hochuferweg in the Baltic Sea resort of Sellin takes you either through the impressive Granitz forest area towards Binz (approx. 6.5 km, 2 hours) or as a shorter walk to the Südstrand (approx. 2 km, 45 min.). You walk directly along the cliff through quaint beech forests and enjoy great views of the Baltic Sea. Northwest direction (towards Binz): The classic Hochuferwanderweg starts above the Sellin pier. The natural, hilly path leads through one of the largest contiguous beech forest areas in Northern Germany. Along the way, you will pass viewpoints such as the Granitzer Ort and the Teufelsschlucht (Devil's Gorge), from which you can descend to the beach. You should allow about 1.5 to 2 hours for the almost 6.5 km long route. You can conveniently start your return journey with the Bäderbahn (Rasender Roland).

Nice ferryman, always up for a chat. The crossing on the motor-driven ferry takes maybe just a minute, but there's no alternative for pedestrians anywhere.
