Curious wartime stopover 1944/45: Parts of the valuable "Prussia Collection" (archaeological finds, archives, negative collection) from the University of Greifswald were stored in the manor house. A merchant later rescued them and brought them to East Berlin.

Rarely fully preserved ensemble: Late Baroque symmetrical farmyard with six buildings in front around a courtyard paved with fieldstones, stable, riding hall, park and remains of the medieval castle complex (Schlossberg an der Tollense as a protected monument). This makes the complex a special feature among the country's manor complexes.

The park (laid out around 1750) is terraced on the slope of the Tollensetal valley with a view over the Tollense meadows. It features ponds, valuable trees and shrubs (including bald cypresses, plane trees, ginkgo, columnar oaks) and a burial chapel from the second half of the 19th century. The park is publicly accessible and is used for operas and concerts.

In the 17th century, the estate came into the possession of the von Blücher family and served as a Vorwerk of Daberkow. In the early 18th century (pledged around 1714, finally handed over in 1738), it passed to the von Linden family. Karl Friedrich von Linden had an English landscape park laid out after 1750. Via the von Heyden-Linden and von Neetzow families, the estate came into the possession of Adolf Graf von Blücher (1840–1893) in 1865, who had the manor house, which was Baroque in its core, rebuilt in the Neo-Gothic style. In 1945, the estate was expropriated and resettled as part of the land reform. The Red Army initially used the building as a command post. It then served as accommodation for refugees and displaced persons. Later, apartments for several families, a village shop, and a kitchen for the VEG Neu Plötz were set up; the hall was used for events.

Beautiful, secluded location in the heart of the Tollense Valley, surrounded by farmland and meadows. I'm already looking forward to its completion and opening.

Broock Castle, once the social center of the region and the largest private stud farm in Western Pomerania, will be expanded into a supra-regional conference and cultural center in the coming years. Since May 2023, our guests will be served in the new village shop with café-bistro and beer garden.

Many castles and manor houses offer culture and tourist attractions, including Stellshagen, Bothmer, Plüschow, Dönkendorf, Lütgenhof and Gut Brook. Brook is located directly on the Baltic coast, on the Bay of Lübeck. The extensive manor complex is only 500 meters from the beach and is elevated in a rolling terminal moraine landscape. The estate, which is now very well maintained, with a manor house and numerous manor buildings, already shows the territorial proximity to Schleswig-Holstein, because the type of mighty building ensemble can be found in many estates in Holstein. Brook, along with many other estates, belonged to the county of Bothmer for a long time. In 1715, the Imperial Counts of Bothmer, originally from Hanover, founded a majorate county in the Klützer Winkel. As a result, they built Bothmer Castle near Klütz, which is the largest baroque castle complex in Mecklenburg. Gut Brook has been privately and ecologically managed for several years with the also former Bothmer estate Christinenfeld. A number of holiday apartments have been built and numerous cultural events take place at Brook.
