When you are standing at the top, walk a bit further in the direction of Teufelskanzel – from there you will get a much better view of the Klusfelsen itself and the surrounding sandstone formations. The view is particularly beautiful in the late afternoon, when the warm light highlights the rocks from the forest and Halberstadt becomes slightly visible in the background.

The small stone ruin on the Amsberg near Halberstadt is a rather hidden but exciting excursion destination in the Harz foothills. It is idyllically situated in the forest and is reminiscent of an old, presumably historical use of the area – today it is mainly a quiet place for hikers and nature lovers. The ruin itself is small but interesting because it fits well into the typical sandstone landscape around Halberstadt. The walk there is particularly beautiful: the paths lead through the forest and offer small views of the surroundings again and again. Perfect for a short, relaxed hike away from the main tourist routes.

The Teufelskanzel near Halberstadt is a small but impressive viewpoint in the Klusbergen hills. The striking sandstone formation rises about 20 meters vertically from the valley and offers a great view over the surroundings of Halberstadt, the Klusfelsen rocks, and the nearby Fünffingerfelsen rocks from the top.

It's best to start in the direction of Halberstadt and take the well-signposted circular route through the Klusberge. The sandstone rocks look particularly beautiful in the warm evening light, and from the small viewpoints, you have a surprisingly wide view over the Harz foothills. Sturdy footwear is worthwhile because some paths are a bit uneven. If you're short on time: Even a short walk to the main rocks is enough to soak up the special atmosphere – peaceful, natural, and often much less crowded than other Harz spots.

I was there on a gravel bike, or rather a mountain bike. Beautiful sandstone formation.
