Great spot with a view over Geroldstein and the Wispertal. On clear days, you can see as far as the wind farm on the Kandrich - on the other side of the Rhine.

According to the information board, the listed monument "Backes" (baker's house) from 1751 forms the center of the village. It has been faithfully restored and formerly also served the fire brigade and as the location of the cattle scale. The bell in the steeple was rung in case of fire, at funerals and - to this day - at the turn of the year.

Beautifully located hut with a view. Unfortunately, only suitable for a midday stop on Sundays - even on Saturdays it only opens at 3:00 PM. The information on the homepage is currently a bit inconsistent. https://www.atzmannhuetteheidenrod.de

The hut is located on the edge of the village of Dickschied. You can hike from here to the Wispertal valley. The view over hills and forests is beautiful, and the hut itself is very cozy. Food recommendation: do not order the Flammkuchen (poorly topped and poorly seasoned). Instead, have the "Himmel und Erde". It is listed as a starter on the menu, just tell the waiter that you would like a larger portion as a main course: very delicious!

The Falkenhof belongs to Franz Keller, who owns a Michelin-starred restaurant in the Black Forest and the Rheingau, and who offers beef, pork... from his own cultivation in his restaurants. The animals are kept in a species-appropriate manner and according to the quality requirements of "organic".
