An impressive building. Interesting that these small towns have such large churches.

From 1254 to 1542, Pattensen was an archdeaconry (place of jurisdiction) of the diocese of Minden, to which the churches of Hanover also belonged. Until the Reformation, Pattensen was therefore more important than the current state capital. Before World War II, Catholic families were cared for by the parish of Ruthe near Sarstedt. Many displaced persons from the German eastern territories and evacuees from the Aachen area came to Pattensen after 1945, and the parish of St. Maria was founded. It consists of the towns of Pattensen, Harkenbleck, Hiddestorf, Hüpede, Koldingen, Oerie, Ohlendorf, Reden and Vardegötzen-Thiedenwiese.

The Wulfsen train station, built in 1874, was once an important junction on the railway line from Berlin to the port of Bremen. In 1962 passenger services were discontinued. Today the historic building serves as a residence.

Old railway line of the former connection Wittenberge-Buchholz i.d.Nordheide. In the winter months, if not everything is overgrown, you can still walk along the route. The gravel bed is z. T still in good condition and even some metal bollers that held the rails can still be found. Rather unusual. You get a good impression of a formerly idyllic railway line.

Church from 1629. Mentioned as early as the 9th century, but then burned down by the Danes in the 30th Years' War in 1627. Then rebuilt in 1629.
