This is the only ferry across the Elbe-Lübeck Canal. It connects the communities of Siebeneichen and Fitzen. Even if you don't actually have to cross to the other side, the crossing is worth it for the experience alone. Especially since the ferry is free, but a donation is requested. The transformer station at the intersection of Möllner Straße and Heideweg in Büchen attracts attention. A lively and cheerful scene refers to the nearby forest swimming pool in Büchen. What is special: the bathers are a whole flock of small animals that have gathered there for a happy outing. Geese, storks, beavers and many more meet there, laden with picnic baskets, beach towels, handcarts and swimming rings. The facade painting, which spans all four walls, is a commissioned work by the company art-EFX, which has already individually worked on a large number of gray facades. The company art-EFX from Potsdam carries out artistic facade designs for exterior and interior areas as commissioned work. The artistically forged sundial by Siegfried W. Balk stands on a paved area on Möllner Straße in Büchen. The work is reminiscent of a globe, the globe of which is shown in a greatly reduced size. The slanted axis serves as the clock's hand and casts its shadow on a semicircular metal band with Roman numerals for the times. The work is simple yet elegant. Data on the work: Siegfried W. Balk: Sundial (1988, bronze) Möllner Straße / Gudower Straße, 21514 Büchen Coordinates: 53.47998, 10.61783 https://sh-kunst.de/siegfried-w-balk-sonnenuhr/
